Walt Disney’s Grand Central Creative Campus (GC3) was still on blueprints when the Director of Internal Communications called us for help with a neighborhood guide to the new building being constructed. The biggest challenge was how to represent the venue when it wasn’t yet built. We did this using elements of the architect’s renderings, interior design palette, and drawings that would be used as murals on the walls of GC3.
We researched the area’s businesses to include a directory of neighborhood services and interviewed people from Disney’s facilities on their part of the new building. We also dived into the history of the area because the campus location is a historic site—the first airport in Los Angeles where Charles Lindbergh piloted the maiden flight. This theme naturally translated into the guide’s overall concept.
